Hello and welcome to my start fly tying site! So who is this site for? Well its for anyone who wants to start to learn how to tie their own flies. So you might be a fly fisher who has been meaning to get around to it for a long time, and has now decided to take the plunge and tie their own. If so, you are in for a real treat - catching a fish on the fly is good, but catching a fish on a fly you have tied yourself really is the ultimate fishing experience in my opinion.


On the other hand, you may do a bit of coarse fishing yourself, and have often quite fancied a go at fly fishing. And you are deciding to go the whole way and tie your own flies as well. Go on - give it a go - there is so much more to it than slipping a boilie on a hook! That was me by the way - I'd done quite a bit of coarse fishing in my time, before I finally got around to taking up the fly rod. But once I did, that was it - I was hooked! Fly tying can seem very daunting when you are a beginner. One of the things I really hope to do with this site is to simplify the process, and I hope it lets you see yourself tying flies that catch you fish very soon.
